As Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) prepares for its upcoming Welcome Weekend, many incoming students are eager to learn what to expect. We spoke with a our Lincoln Ambassadors to address some of the most common questions from our newest Railsplitters.
What will I Experience at Welcome Weekend?
Welcome Weekend includes content about 校园 Safety and 安全, 时间管理, 学习技巧, 多样性, 校园 Resources, LMU History and Traditions, Leadership and Involvement Opportunities and a whole lot of fun!
Is Attendance at Welcome Weekend Mandatory?
是的. Welcome Weekend gives students the opportunity to meet classmates, faculty and staff, and learn about the resources available to navigate the college experience. We believe attending Welcome Weekend is essential to first-year success and therefore, all students are required to attend. Attendance is required for all in-coming students including commuter and transfer students.
What makes LMU special?
Haley Pendleton: The community, everyone at LMU has been so welcoming and helpful from the start. It really feels like a home.
Alexei Butchart: The best thing about LMU is that everything is very close to each other on campus, so it's accessible to everyone, but also another great thing about LMU is that it's like living in a fish bowl- you’re bound to find friends.
What tips do you have for making friends during Welcome Weekend?
杰达本杰明: Be kind to everyone and put yourself out there. Go to all of the events!
德莱尼波特: Be open-minded! Allowing yourself to participate in all the events and make conversations open so many opportunities to make friendships.
Are Meals Provided During Welcome Weekend?
是的. You will be provided with meal tickets to eat on campus throughout the weekend. Residential students will begin using their meal plans on Sunday evening.
Where Can I Park During Welcome Weekend?
Students are welcome to park in any of the parking spaces designated for students. Please visit our 校园警察 and 安全 Webpage to view a map of campus and locate student parking.
